The voting which went on well yesterday in most parts of the constituency was partly interfered with by Gen. Jim Owoyesigire Kasoka whose soldiers participated in NRM party elections in most parts of Bubare sub county.
Some parts of Bubare supporters of Jogo were violent but police kept coming in to help and put things in order. One Bright, Musasizi’s supporter was beaten and he is admitted at Kabale regional referral Hospital.
He was beaten from Kagarama primary school playground a few minutes before voting started. And Friday who is alleged to have beaten him was arrested by Police.
Musasizi won in most parts of Hamurwa and Nyamweru sub counties giving him chance to win the re-election. His opponent won some areas of Bubare in Kagarama where he is born.
It is not clear whether Jogo will come back as an independent in the 2021 general elections especially if he fails to concede defeat but rumors have it that the Nature Uganda boss Byaruhanga Achilles should be coming to face Musasizi in the race.
Byaruhanga (above in a photo) is said to be planning to contest as an independent candidate although he is not so much political as he is more like a civil servant but he has reasonable resources to take him through the race.
Hon Musasizi who could not be reached for comment has a lot of work to reconcile the locals and to foster unity and development.
On the voting eve in a press conference at Whitehorse Inn he pledged to unite and work for development for Rubanda East when re-elected.
