Hon. Natukunda Innocent Bitariho, former MP Candidate for Mwenge North Constituency (2026), together with the Bitariho family of Kitwetwe Cell, Mabira Town Council, Mwenge North, Kyenjojo District, announces with profound sorrow the passing of their beloved son, brother, father, and friend, Dr. Bright Denis Bitariho, who passed away on 18th June 2026 in Mbarara City.
Dr. Bright Denis Bitariho was born on 12th July 1992 and lived a life defined by service, compassion, leadership, and dedication to humanity.
BIOGRAPHY;
Dr. Bright began his educational journey at Mabira Demo Private Primary School, where he laid a strong foundation for academic excellence. He later attended St. Adolf Tibeyalirwa Secondary School – Muhorro, Kololo Secondary School, and Central College Mityana for his secondary education.
Driven by his passion for medicine and healthcare, he joined Fort Portal School of Clinical Officers for professional medical training and later pursued further studies at Uganda Martyrs University, strengthening both his professional competence and leadership capacity.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bright served diligently in various health institutions and humanitarian organizations. He worked at Kyangwali Refugee Camp Clinic, where he offered medical care to vulnerable refugee communities. He also served at Kyakatara Health Centre, earning admiration for his professionalism and commitment to patient care.
His passion for public health led him to serve in the Greater Kalangala region as a Supervisor of the Tuberculosis Project under Marie Stopes Uganda, where he contributed significantly to disease prevention and community health interventions. He later worked in Lyantonde District, supervising health-related projects under Baylor Uganda.
Dr. Bright was also a visionary leader and social entrepreneur. He served as Director of Samaritan Hearts Medical Clinic and Director of Uganda Hearts for Social Economic Transformation (UHSET), institutions through which he championed healthcare access, community empowerment, and socio-economic transformation.
At the time of his passing, he was working with JCRC mbarara among others., continuing his lifelong mission of serving communities and improving lives.
Dr. Bright was a loving father, caring brother, mentor, and a leader in the making. He was known for his humility, wisdom, generosity, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others. His life remains a testimony of service, hope, and compassion.
Though his life was cut short at only 33 years, his impact will live on in the countless lives he touched.
BURIAL ARRANGEMENTS;
The body will arrive at the ancestral home in Kitwetwe Cell, Mabira Town Council, Mwenge North, Kyenjojo District on Saturday, 20th June 2026, for vigil.
Burial will take place on Sunday, 21st June 2026 at the ancestral home in Kitwetwe Cell.
Friends, relatives, leaders at all levels, colleagues, and well-wishers are informed and requested to stand with the family during this difficult time through prayers, presence, and support.
