Eight people have died while twelve more are still missing after a canoe boat capsized at Kisaba Landing Site, Kyamuswa Sub County Kalangala District.
The incident happened on Wednesday Morning.
The occupants of the boat were traveling from Kisaba Landing site to Katosi in Mukono District.
The Marine Police and fishermen are doing all efforts to rescue the remaining people from the lake.
There are strong waves on Lake Victoria that deter safe transportation of people from one place to another in Canoe boats.
Kyamuswa has no major Marine Vessel to transport its people to the Main Land. Dwellers solely rely on small canoe boats to traverse the lake.
It is not the first-time people capsize on the Lake during this strong waves season.
