Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) leader Dan Matsiko Malcom has blasted the founder of FDC party Dr. Kizza Besigye for pushing for the appointment of Patrick Oboi Amuriat as FDC President. Matsiko has declared interest to un seat Amuriat for the much coveted FDC top job and position of FDC party President.
Below is the Q and A interview with Mr. Dan Matsiko.
Question; Now that Katoga determines who takes which position in FDC will you be going there for endorsement?
Answer; I take part in democratic competitions for the good of our party not seeking for positions. I am not looking for a position in FDC but seeking for good governance.
Question; What should Katoga FDC wing do right?
Answer; Let them concentrate on their red front program than subverting democracy in FDC internal competitions. Katonga should leave democracy to thrive in FDC party
Question; Did Gen Muntu make any achievement for the FDC party and how did he win the DFC Presidency?
Answer; Muntu came into FDC presidency because of a sympathy vote. He had tried almost 5 times to lead the FDC but he managed only when Besigye had been blackmailed and forced to resign from the FDC presidency
Gen. Muntu staged a coup of words in FDC and also became a president of the party for 5 years not with almost zero achievements to show.
Question; What wrong did Dr. Besigye do with Amuriat election as FDC party President?
Answer; Besigye brought Amuriat who has since become a disgrace to the party in the last 6 years.
Question; What will you do incase FDC elected you as its Party President and maybe Party Flag bearer for Presidential elections in 2026?
Answer; Matsiko Presidency will capture state power and retain it for a decade 2026 and beyond. That is why I dismiss the try and error politics of Katonga mob justice.

Question; So, what is your winning strategy now that you may not have support of Katoga?

I have heard two your two questions
1.Strategy for winning the much coveted FDC top seat at Najjananukumbi
2- The Katonga backed wannabe presidents have money and have been in Parliament for more than 2 terms.
The first one question, I am not at liberty to answer it because it begs for scrutiny of our weaponry and what type of weapon will be used to win the battle. Our opponent camps should not even know source or type of weapons to be used on them. It’s not wise to let them know such information. So, I am not obliged to answer your strategy questions at this point in yet to commence political race.
Secondly, you talked about the opulent nature of the Katonga brigade of law makers who have been on the payroll of the junta in parliament wanting to participate in the race for the top leadership of FDC.
We ‘re not scared of Mr. Museveni’s deputies wanting to lead the main opposition parties in Uganda. We ‘re more than ready to give them a run for their billions in broad day light. The 1500 delegates will have the final say not their bounty come the FDC polls. I think the electorate can’t be fooled second time by merely being told to vote a person simply because Katonga has ordered them to do so. They were told to vote Patrick Amuriat in 2017 and nothing has been registered positively in the Katonga controlled leadership at Najjananukumbi. There are many lessons to learn from Katonga led mob justice of 2017 at Namboole. We shall continue to lobby for meritocracy as opposed to political patronage from Katonga. Matsiko Dan Malcom is not privy to the mob politics of the Katonga brigade but Subscribes to organised and refined leadership of reason in FDC 2023 and beyond.
Imagine the FDC party leader serving in Parliament instead of being at Najjanakubi or the party structures and branches growing numbers for our party. What a huge political miscalculation by the Katonga brigade! People should rethink their steps in the journey to capture state power.
