My comprehensive assessment on how the Government of Uganda was surreptitiously benefiting from the voluminous LGBTQ funding amidst an Anti-Homosexuality bill legislative cover up.
Hello Comrades just to let you know. The amount of money being sent to Uganda for LGBTQ activities that was rescinded by the Trump Administration was reported to be around $4 million annually, according to various sources. This funding was primarily allocated by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and was aimed at supporting key populations, including LGBTQ+ individuals, sex workers, and injecting drug users, as part of broader efforts to combat the HIV epidemic in Uganda
The $5.5 million (UGX 20 billion): USAID had allocated this amount for LGBTQ rights in Uganda, sparking debate about the use and beneficiaries of these funds.
The $4 million (UGX 15 billion) annual funding package was reportedly cut off, impacting health programs and services for vulnerable populations.
The Ministry of Health claimed that this funding cut affected HIV prevention, treatment, and healthcare services, with concerns about disruptions to medication access and heightened vulnerability for LGBTQ+ communities.
The decision to rescind this funding was part of broader discussions about LGBTQ rights, national sovereignty, and foreign aid influence in Uganda.
So any notion that Bobi wine’s agenda was to promote LGBTQ yet Museveni and his NRM government were as surreptitiously benefiting from this preponderant funding through the so called development partners like USAID is just sheer show of ignorance and just a miscalculated move to malign the National Unity Platform.
