Bishenyi-Ishaka Municipality Member of Parliament elect, Idi Basajja has declared interest for the deputy speakership position in the Ugandan Parliament. Idi is a son of business tycoon Haji Hassan Basajjabalaba.

Idi intends to displace the present deputy Speaker Hon Thomas Tayembwa since he is deputy speaker she shoudl be planning to bounce back in his position and then Hon Anita Among as the Speaker of Parliament in her second term.
The two,; Tayebwa and Idi hail from Greater Bushenyi region in western Uganda. The contest may be tought and it is believed that Hon Idi won’t get out of this race empy handed. Great luck Hon Idi.
