THE MATTERS OF ISINGIRO! Hon Anthony Tumwesigye the Member of Parliament for Isingiro West is facing trouble with an election petition that has thrust some of his as his supporters in panic and chaos as they allegedly try to forge evidence.
The situation in Isingiro is getting messy as some supporters believed to be allegedly working for Hon. Tumwesigye are suspected to be forging evidence. They are allegedly believed to be trying to altering documents (declaration forms) that were not stamped with the official seal, in order to make Hon. Arinaitwe Rauben lose the case he filed against Hon Anthony Tumwesigye.
They are believed to be trying to bribe some polling officials, though some have refused. This is using underhand methods in a case which is in Court.
Hon Reuben Arinaitwe dragged Hon Tumwesigye to Court accusing him of allegedly rigging election that conclude some months ago in which Hon Tumwesigye was declared winner.
“The case has reportedly generated tension in the camp of Hon Tumwesigye causing them to panic and to try to piece up evidence to their defense. It’s is believed over 60 polling stations results were contested over electoral malpractice and allegedly tampered with the actual polling results in favor of Hon Tumwesigye”.
It is not business as usual, Hon Tumwesigye may be having good lawyers but they have a bad case I presume, one Twine said.
Elections and being an MP are being taken as a matter of life and death in Uganda that the winner sometimes ‘walks longer miles’ to defend the win.

In our earlier story we published information to the effect that Hon Tumwesigye together with his agents had been trying to intimidate Arinaitwe Rauben’s supporters and witnesses as some local officials collude to conduct illegal court sessions purportedly trying to judge the election petition case that is fully outside their jurisdiction.
The last warning is issued by M/S Akampumuza & Co. Advocates in a letter dated 12th June 2026, whose details are shared bellow. The law firm, M/S Akampumuza & Co. Advocates represents Arinaitwe Rauben who has challenged in court the election of Hon Tumwesigye.
Anthony Tumwesigye together with his Lawyers are accused of allegedly setting up LC1 Court to take away the power of the High Court and victimize Arinaitwe Rauben ‘s witnesses.
While the Election Petition is awaiting allocation and commencement of hearing of the court petition case, Tumwesigye Anthony, the first Respondent and his Agents are allegedly colluding to set up LC1 Courts to Intimidate witnesses of Petitioner, Arinaitwe Rauben, the current MP.
Source in the constituency informed this media house that Anthony Tumwesigye and his lawyers are trying to usurp powers of High court in trying to handle a case outside their jurisdiction.
