The Generation Pastors Network (GPN)—also referred to as the Generational Pastors Network—is a faith-based organization in Uganda led by figures such as Pastor/ Apostle Mugisha Gift.
It unites church leaders across generations to foster spiritual growth, combat poverty through economic empowerment, and support national development.
The GPN leaders who have formed a new spiritual dimension for Uganda especially for the Pentecostal churches, have organized national prayers at Kololo grounds in Kampala where President Yoweri Museveni is expected to be the chief guest.
The prayers will be held on 4th August, 2026. Apostle Mugisha Gift the chief convener and though a new face to the Pentecostal church in Uganda, is an unstoppable leader whom God has raised to awaken, the church to pray, work and fight poverty.
Speaking during a night prayer at Devine Focused ministries in Kampala, he said the prayer day will be crucial as Christians pray for Uganda to position it in being a flag bearer of spiritual revival for East Africa and as well as born again Christians break the loins of poverty from the church.
“The prayer day is time to position Uganda in its spiritual position of taking charge to take revival to the rest of the African continent especially East Africa.
We shall also break the spirit of poverty which has perturbed the Pentecostal church in Uganda for a while. It’s time for the born-again Christians to come out of poverty” he said on Wednesday night.
The night prayer was held to pray and use it to mobilise Christians for the national prayers to be held on 4th August, 2026.
Apostle Mugisha speaking about Jacob a man in the Bible said that after receiving blessing from his father Isaac while at his uncle’s place Laban worked hard to actualize his blessings.
He emphasized that the church has to wake up and work, reinforcing prayers with action to be financially and on the whole blessed by God.
The Generation Pastors Network (GPN) Key Focus Areas and Activities
- Economic Empowerment: Programs designed to help urban and rural ministers fight poverty, encourage hard work, and transition from job seekers to job creators.
- Leadership and Unity: Bringing together hundreds of youth and church leaders for regional meetings, mentorship, and collaborative ministry.
- Government Engagement: Organizing leadership delegations to meet with national officials—such as meetings at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds and engagements regarding economic support funds for religious leaders.
Apostle Mugisha said GPN focuses on intergenerational collaboration, economic empowerment, and spiritual growth.

- Economic Independence: Promoting financial inclusion and self-reliance through initiatives like Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations (SACCOs) to reduce overreliance on church offertory collections.

It is expected President Museveni will on the prayer day of 4th August 2026, donate money to the GPN Union and SACCO which will be used to back roll pastors SACCOS across the country. The pastors are also expected to be trained on how to invest the monies disbursed to them.
Hellen Seku, the Commissioner for the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (NSPC) and also Private Secretary to the President on youth Affairs has been key in supporting GPN to organize and mobilise.
She has asked them to be united and smart if the government is to support them to fight poverty. Sseku has urged them to strike a balance between spiritual guidance and promoting economic empowerment among their followers.
