Magara Darious the Managing Editor of Eastafricanwatch.net talked to Pastor Atodu Daniel in Q&A interview about his childhood life, ministry (Pastor, husband, father and gospel artist). He grew up in Ogwete a village in Amuria district, (Teso sub-region of the Eastern Region of Uganda). Read below the details;
Who are you and where do you minister from?
I am Atodu Daniel a born of Ogwete a village in Amuria Eastern Uganda, I minister in Face Jesus worship Cathedral in Nakawa in Kampala (Uganda).
Are you also a gospel artist? What songs have you produced?
I am also a gospel artist, l have produced songs like ejai ecokon,Hide me, etc. you can find my music on YouTube and other media platforms.
What attracted you to become a gospel artist?
One day I was praying and fasting l heard a voice of the Holy Spirit whisper to me, to start singing worship in church sessions that is what inspired me. Since then, I started singing for God and God has blessed me in praise and worship ministry. l have achieved a cover up presence of praise and worship teams when they are not around, or when they face challenges in praise and worship l do the praise and worship session.
I minister, recently we had praise and worship training for GPN (generations Pastors Network) national prayer day in August 2026, at our national praise and worship leaders Church.
What are your achievements so far?
I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership and Community Development in New life leadership Academy Arusha Tanzania.
Through music l have met other gospel spirit filled artists like Brian Lubega, Levixone, Prince Geff, PS Nature, king wisely etc in FGAU, ISGOMA and TEGAPA. We have been rocking for Jesus through Music.
Is it easy to be a Pastor and a gospel artist?
Is it easy to be a pastor and a gospel artist, because it’s the working of the holy Spirit. I only avail my self and make programs and get my self-organized to serve God.
What about your family life?
I am married, to Muzaki Grace Isabella, we have three children Atodu Daniel favor, Atodu Daniella shine and Atodu Liora pearl. We thank God for our family and we are happy.
Do you have any achievements in academics?
I graduated last year December 2025 with a Masters of Art in Christian Leadership and Community Development, right now lam pursuing my PHD in Theology.
When did you give your life to God to become a born-again Christian?
I got born again in 1995 while in Soroti and started ministering right way, l was the first to speak in tongues in village Abarilela. l remember my cousin brother ‘clergy’ in church of Uganda who had given us shelter in his home, in one of the family evening prayers heard me praying in tongues, he reported me to the church of Uganda reverend , there’s a boy here praying in a language we don’t know, neighbors could always gather in evening prayers in nearby bushes to hear me pray in a different language in their village, more than 10 children could follow me during day time, wherever l go , they also go , when l climb on a tree to pick some mangoes to eat ,they also climb with me.
One night my cousin brother the clergy’s wife had a dream, she was taken to hell , the in a dream told her in case you don’t get born again, you will come here, she was also taken for a tour to heaven and asked if you get born again, you will come here, so she woke up from sleep, remember the whole family is not born again but praying a religious prayer being a clergy’s home, she came to me, the eleven year old boy to lead her to Christ, since then , she is still born again up-to-date, she is still alive in Amuria district.
Who are your parents and what are your closing remarks?
I am a son of Akol James and Adongo Edith all have gone to be with the Lord.
I ask people to turn their lives to God our maker, Jesus is the hope of life, people should become born again that is when life will be better and sweeter. We also have a promise of Heaven besides receiving earthly blessings. Jesus is the world author of life, peace and blessings. He has the whole world in his hands, we should submit to him and have life.
