2Timothy 3:1-7; 1. This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3. Without natural affection, trucebreakers,false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4. Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5. Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof from such turn away. 6. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7. Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.” These are situations we see all around us everyday. 2Peter 3:10-18; 10. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. 11. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, 12. Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? 13. Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 14. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. 15. And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you: 16. As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 17. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. Peter wrote this epistle not too long before he died. He is exhorting us to understand that we are living in the last days. We must live diligently, peaceful, holy, blameless and spotless. You must be discerning of the wicked and those who speak a false doctrine. Which is why it is important to know God’s Word. We are admonished to grow in the grace of God and His wisdom and knowledge. A growing Christian is a healthy Christian. The closer you are to the Lord, the bigger He becomes and the more He does for you. It’s like a plane. It looks so small in the sky, but as it lands, the closer it comes to you, the bigger it becomes. Have fellowship with Him. 1John 4:17; ” Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.” Ephesians 1:13-14; 13. In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise. 14. Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.” We are spirit beings and we as Christians, look at things through spiritual eyes. Which do not include using the five senses. But it should include using the Five Ds. Which are decision, determination, discipline, desire and diligence.
