
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commended Pastor Robert Kayanja for using his ministry to promote development, production and community empowerment, particularly through agricultural initiatives in Karamoja and Kiryandongo.
President Museveni made the remarks yesterday while presiding over the Big Fix Holy Spirit Global Conference at Miracle Centre Cathedral in Rubaga, Kampala.
The seven-day conference, hosted by Pastor Robert Kayanja and Pastor Jessica Kayanja of Robert Kayanja Ministries, started from September 21st and ended yesterday. It has attracted Christian leaders and visitors from Uganda, Africa and beyond.
President Museveni said he was particularly pleased by discussions at the conference around African integration and the political integration of East Africa.
He thanked Pastor Kayanja and Pastor Jessica for bringing together an international network through which people could exchange ideas and build relationships.

The President called on Christians to strategically position themselves to benefit from the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), particularly as  Africa’s population continues to grow and expand the available market and emphasised that Africa’s unity, economic integration and access to a wider regional market should be a shared aspiration.

He also cautioned against restrictive trade approaches among African countries, condemning barriers to free movement of goods within the East African Community, which he said undermine regional integration, unity and economic cohesion.
President Museveni highlighted the need for Africa to strengthen its four-dimensional security capacity—land, air, sea and space—to guarantee the continent’s long-term safety and strategic interests.
President Museveni points to existing security gaps, particularly in Africa’s presence and capabilities in the maritime and space domains, calling for greater joint efforts to establish a strategic security presence across all four dimensions.
The President reminds Africans that no single country can adequately achieve this objective on its own, stressing the need for proper organisation, regional cooperation and coordinated strategies among African countries to strengthen collective security.
President Museveni highlighted key objectives of the East African Community once fully attained, which hinclude one army, one foreign policy, one citizenship, and one common market as key pillars of deeper East African integration.
