Juma had just finished his PhD was due for graduation sooon
A lecturer and researcher at MUBS has lost his life due to injuries he sustained after an attack by a group of thugs known as Kifeesi on Friday night.
Juma Bananuka succumbed to wounds on Sunday morning at Mulago Referral Hospital.
“MUBS has lost one its best researchers. He just finished his PhD and was waiting for graduation. Robbers beat him and he died today in Mulago. Rest in peace Juma Bananuka,” reads a message making rounds on Whatsapp.
The sad news of Bananuka’s death was first shared on social media by mainly students on whatsup groups. Students complained that the crime is on the increase in Kampala due to increasing poverty especially among the un employed youths.
Details of his burial program will be shared later.
