Since the founding of the Africa Water Association 40 years ago, it has proudly served as a “platform for water and sanitation dispensation of ideas.” Its guiding mission over the past forty years; to achieve favorable policy outcomes in water and sanitation.
In that time AfWA has been at the table, working as the “The water and sanitation association” different milestones have been achieved.
With these achievements in mind, AfWA celebrated a historic 40 years with a sumptuous Anniversary Dinner hosted at National Water and Sewerage Corporation’s International Resource Center (IREC). Celebrating the victories that African Water Utilities have achieved over the last forty years and toasting to many victories that lay before them in years to come. The 40th Anniversary Dinner kicked off with fireworks and performances from different acts.
The Managing Director-NWSC, Dr. Eng. Silver Mugisha welcomed the guests at set the ball rolling for the colourful event.
The board Chairman NWSC, Eng. Dr. Christopher Ebal also thanked the organising team and pledged his full support to NWSC’s participation in all AfWA activities.
Clad in different outfits, the guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner as they got entertained by a live band. The evening also had in stalk an awards ceremony that saw different outstanding water utilities and individuals get recognised for their roles in advancing water and sanitation initiatives.
NWSC management has caused great impact in their services country wide and has also made great influence and significant contribution in water leadership and services internationally especially in Africa.
