Amb. Bishop Fortune Chipo Mudzamiri a Zimbabwean born business woman working in Uganda has called upon Ugandans to embrace God’s grace and mercy in order to receive God’s blessings in life.
She said she that as much as God’s Grace and mercy have similarities they are different. She spoke to the Eastafricanwatch.net reporter in Kampala.
She explained that Mercy is a subset of under grace and that it is important for Ugandans to pursue God’s grace which we did not merit to benefit from since God because of his mercy we are partakers of it.

He has blessed me and favoured me, I did not deserve the life I have and lead, it is because of his Grace and mercy that I am what I am” Bishop Chipo added. She explains grace below;
What is God’s grace?
This is his (God) unmerited favor, love, and kindness bestowed upon humanity, particularly through the forgiveness of sins and the gift of salvation. It is a free, divine gift rather than a reward earned by human effort, providing blessings, strength, and acceptance despite our shortcomings.
In various theological contexts, it is often viewed as both a “saving grace” (forgiveness) and “common grace” (general blessings) that covers humanity.
Grace as Undeserved Favor
- Romans 3:24: “[We] are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.” Grace is what inclines God to give gifts that are free and undeserved by sinners.
- Romans 5:15: “If many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many.” So, grace is that quality in God that produces free gifts for guilty sinners in salvation.
- Romans 11:5–6: “At the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.” So, you can’t work to earn grace. It is free and undeserved.

Grace as Power for Living
- 2 Corinthians 9:8: “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” Now, that seems to picture grace as a power or an influence for obedience.
- 2 Corinthians 12:9: Jesus says to Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
- 1 Corinthians 15:10: “By the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me was not in vain. On the contrary, I worked harder [that was the effect of grace] than any of them, though it was not I, but the grace of God that is with me.”

What is God’s mercy?
God’s mercy is his compassionate, undeserved love that withholds punishment for sins and relieves suffering. It is a foundational attribute of God’s character,, offering forgiveness, comfort, and a “do-over” or second chance. Rather than giving people what they deserve (judgment), God’s mercy provides what they need (grace and help).
She explains the similarity of between God’s Grace and God’s mercy?
God’s Grace and mercy are similar in that both are unearned, compassionate actions originating from God’s love to benefit humanity rather than punishing them for sin. While mercy withholds deserved punishment, grace imparts undeserved favor, making them two sides of the same coin, often working together to provide salvation and spiritual blessings.
Bishop Chipo who is also a Pentecostal leader urged Christians not to give up on their lives and relationship with God saying God is able to perfect and beautify their walk with him (God) and to bless their work if they are faithful to him.
