Shakhtar Donetsk director of football Darijo Srna has warned Arsenal that Mykhaylo Mudryk will cost a “big amount of money” in January.
Mudryk has enjoyed a breakout year in 2022 for Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
The winger has ten goals and eight assists in just 18 appearances across all competitions. This includes five goal contributions in six games in the Champions League group stages.
Arsenal are known to be admirers of Mudryk and one of their priorities heading into January is to sign a new winger.
They were unable to sign a new wide man in the summer despite them being linked with Yeremi Pino and Pedro Neto.
Mikel Arteta appears to have grand plans for Mudryk. Ben Jacobs reported earlier this month that the head coach feels that the 21-year-old can become a “more versatile player”.
“Arteta feels that he can be developed into a more versatile player,” a source said.
“At the moment he’s lightning quick, he’s got a good eye for goal, he weighs in with assists, he makes the pitch as big as possible, he starts on the left-hand side and he cuts in.
“I think Mikel Arteta thinks that he can spend more time during games in central areas and, even under select game management situations, switch sides as well.
“As he adds those strings to his bow, he could live up to his reputation as one of the best players in that position.
Arteta wants to strengthen his team as we close the World Cup in a few weeks and he may have other surprise of stars on his shopping list as he eyes to take the Premier league tittle which is possible if he adds on players.
Arsenal supporters in Uganda believe their team can win the tittles this season if more good players are purchased and have great faith in Arteta and the present squad.
