Two-time Olympic champion Joshua Cheptegei added yet another global medal to his remarkable career, claiming bronze in the World Half Marathon Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark with a personal best of 58:26.

Cheptegei returning to the Ugandan national team colors for the first time since capturing the 10,000m Olympic gold in Paris 2024, proved yet again that his class on any surface is permanent and solidifying his status as an all-time great by adding an elusive global road medal to his historic resume.

The 30-year-old grinded out the bronze medal officially winning an individual medal in every single major World Athletics championship discipline he has entered (Track, Cross Country, and Road). The Ugandan legend holds the 10,000m and 5,000m world records.

The race was won by Sweden’s Andreas Almgren who outkicked Kenya’s Nicholas Kipkorir in the final 100 meters in a time 58:06 for a new European record.
