Speaking to the eastafricanwatch.net in an exclusive interview yesterday, Mwesigye called upon NRM party supporters and mobilisers not to fear and worry about their party in Buganda.

He said basing on the achievements of the NRM party and government in Buganda region and generally in the country, NRM party supporters and mobilisers should intensify mobilization for the party.

“Tell them tewali kuva ku main (stay put on Mzee Museveni) and teli kuzikiza muliilo (no retreat no surrender), we have gains as a party we can bank on that to mobilize in Buganda and Uganda” Mwesigye said.

Mwesigye who is an NRM party director (National Coordinators Forum) and a Gen Muhooozi Kainerugaba fanatic called upon the NRM leaders to banish divisionism that has cost them support in the Buganda region.

He said Buganda region has been a beneficiary of all government programs that have been implemented country wide. Talk about Operation Wealthy Creation (OWC), Plan for modernization of Agriculture (PMA), Emyoga and PDM. It has benefited from seed schools, health services and now the road infrastructure which is so massive in greater Kampala.

“Roads are being worked on in all divisions. It is true we have some weakness and gaps as the NRM government but there are serious tangible achievements in energy, water and now infrastructure sectors among others especially roads” he said.

Mwesigye who is aspiring for Nakaseke North Member of Parliament seat, said they are well focused when they hopefully join Parliament soon, they will consolidate on the achievements of NRM government and work on areas that are lacking.

“I humbly and strongly appeal to our NRM leaders and comrades in Buganda and Uganda in general to work together and win seats in the next elections and to prioritize the agendas and needs of the masses against their personal needs as leaders.

“Our losses here in Buganda have been generally attributed to lack of good coordination but otherwise government has worked for the people in this region. If we get steady and unite, we can win and win in Buganda and in other regions of Uganda in the next elections”
