A senior Medical official commonly known as Dr. Byamukama Francis Kagwa was yesterday nominated by the NRM party to take Rukiga MP Seat. He is a medical official who works in Ntungamo district.
Hon Byamukama who wants to replace an independent MP Bish Ndyomgyenyi said he will put his biggest focus on revitalizing education and health care.
He also wants to support youths skills and jobs creation and poverty fight in Rukiga. He also says that his winning will help the NRM to revive its glory in the district.
Hon Byamukama was nominated by Mr Bahimbise Johnson a retired commissioner of police and commandant Kampala metropolitan together with business men Tukamuhabwa Patrick from Bukinda, Alban Tumwekwatse from Rwamucucu Sub County and his wife.
Hon Byamukama a born of Bukinda sub county, will be a problem to other candidates in Rukiga but most especially the incumbent who also hails from Bukinda. Others in this race are Alex Magezi Kanuga an international Businessman (Kamwezi), Patrick Kiconco Katabazi (Rwamucucu) and Laston Besigye who comes from Kashambya.
The former Rukiga MP Hon Jack Sabiiti recently said FDC will also field their MP candidate for the 2026 national elections in Rukiga district. Most constituents are eager for change saying their MP is ppor performer and they as well want the woman Mp replaced by Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe. They say Calorine Kamusime has also been dormant.
