
Kampala, Uganda | Friday, September 12, 2025 — The Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, Hon. Barugahara Balaam, has paid a hospital visit to Hon. Amlan Tumusiime Amooti, former contestant for Bugahya Constituency, who is currently admitted at Nakasero Hospital after being diagnosed with stage four cancer.
Minister Balaam expressed solidarity with Hon. Tumusiime and his family during this difficult time, offering prayers for his recovery.
“We continue to pray for miraculous healing for our brother Hon. Amlan. I appreciate the quick response and support from the Rt. Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Anitah Among, the Minister for the Presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda, as well as his family members and friends,” Balaam said.

Hon. Tumusiime previously served as Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kikube before contesting for Parliament. He has remained active in community leadership, serving as Ambassador of Kitara FC, Patron of Hoima Boda Boda Association and Hoima Journalists Association, and Chairperson of the Hoima District Scouts Council.
Minister Balaam called upon friends, relatives, and the wider Bunyoro community, especially those in Kampala Metropolitan, to keep Hon. Amlan in their prayers and stand with his family during this period.
