F ormer television presenter and news anchor Faridah Nakazibwe is shocked by the behavior of some Baganda on social media. She said that she came across someone commanding the Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga to bring back the kabaka for treatment back home and even resign from his duties.
Buganda is one of the largest kingdoms in Uganda with the Kabaka Ronald Mwenda Mutebi as its leader. They always say that he has the final word in the kingdom and whatever he says is done.
However, that doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. The young generation is finding it hard to keep up with the rules and behavior of the kingdom with its Kabaka and the other leaders.
In the past years, Kabaka Ronald Mwenda has been struggling with some sickness. He has been moving from one country to the other seeking better treatment.
During the time he hasn’t been able to appear in public, Baganda have got bitter with the Katikkiro. They also accuse him of hiding their king and letting him struggle behind closed doors. This is yet the Kingdom is supposed to inform all his people.
Faridah Nakazibwe said she has never seen such behavior before. She therefore hopes some youths can change their behaviour.
“Naye abakopi twewadde eddembe ku mutimbagano yarabbi 🤣. I have seen one commanding the Katikkiro to bring back the Kabaka for treatment at home, and also resign from his duties as Katikkiro. Yenna nno nga ali serious ebitagambika,”
