The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has selected and endorsed Hon Nathan Nandala Mafabi as its presidential flag bearer for the 2026 general election.
Hon. Nandala is the man FDC has set to challenge President Yoweri Museveni in the next elections.
He is a seasoned leader who off course has to work hard with his team to wade off the issues of the recently broken away Katoga leaders who were until recently FDC leaders.
Hon Nandala is also very well educated and he also has the financial muscle that it takes to get involved in this campaign very meaningfully.
His (Hon Nandala) endorsement was made during the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the party head office in Najjanakumbi where members unanimously backed him.
The strong man from Bugisu region is a long serving Member of Parliament for Budadiri West constituency in Sironko district and former leader of opposition in Parliament, will lead the party into what is expected to be a heated race for State House.
His endorsement came today after Patrick Amuriat Oboi, the FDC 2021 presidential candidate currently party President stepped aside from seeking re-election paving way for the new leadership at the top of the party presidential ticket.
The FDC party is expected to unveil a comprehensive campaign road map in the coming months to outline its national mobilization strategy and candidate rollout across the country.
The Party Chairman Hon Jack Sabiiti said they are ready to roar and roll out big and appealed to especially the youth country wide to buy and support their mission which is to restore democracy, rule of law, peace and development in Uganda.
Hon Nandala said their mission has not changed and is to fight poverty and improve the welfare of Ugandans who have missed out on many things in President Museveni’s poorly led government.
He said education, health, infrastructural development among are top on FDC’s agenda to transform Uganda.
Hon Nandala joins Robert Kyagulanyi Ak Bob Wine of the National Unity Platform, Mugisha Muntu of Alliance for National Transformation, Mathias Mpuuga of the Democratic Front, Nobert Mao of DP, Joseph Kabuleta of National Economic Empowerment Dialogue, John Katumba, and I Mpambara, Hon Micheal Rogers Kasami and others to challenge incumbent Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
