G&E Sallim Christian High School Holds Thanksgiving Celebration with Drama, Music, and Fun

TOOKE AMBASSADOR HENRY MUGISHA

G&E Sallim Christian High School today hosted a colorful thanksgiving and prayer service for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates, committing them to God ahead of their upcoming UNEB examinations.
The celebration was led by the school director, Dr. Stephen Kayongo, alongside the school administration, staff, students, parents, and community members, who gathered to celebrate key milestones and achievements.
Amb. Henry Mugisha, the Tooke Brand Ambassador at the Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development (PIBID), officiated at the function. The event featured drama, live musical performances, and moving testimonies highlighting how far God has brought the school since its establishment in 2025. The school currently has a population of approximately 400 students who are grounded in the fear and love of God through a strong Christian foundation.
Amb. Henry Mugisha’s Message of Faith and Excellence
Amb. Henry Mugisha—who also serves as an evangelist and Chief Intercessor for the Archbishop of the Church of Uganda—encouraged students to trust God, pray, and believe in miracles.
He shared a powerful personal testimony of how he was prayed for by Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe and miraculously regained his sight after spending over five years as a blind male student at Hornby High School in Kabale.
“I believe in miracles—Jesus healed me from blindness. There is nothing impossible with God if you trust Him,” he stated.
He urged both parents and students not to be weighed down by worries over school fees and scholastic materials, but to trust God for provision through prayer. Turn-by-turn, he advised candidates to work hard, revise their notes diligently, and uphold discipline—qualities he described as essential prerequisites for academic and life success.
During the event, Amb. Mugisha launched a fundraising drive to construct the Jireh Prayer Tower at the school. The multi-story facility will house a school chapel on its top floor alongside other administrative and learning spaces.
Additionally, he called on the local community to embrace banana farming to supply raw materials to PIBID factories, thereby boosting household incomes and improving nutrition.
Dr. Kayongo Urges Parents to Have More Children
Dr. Stephen Kayongo encouraged parents to have more children and enroll them at G&E Sallim Christian High School, promising to deliver education that meets both national and international standards.
“Although we are located in Kanyale, our vision, academic mission, and goals are to offer education aligned with national and global standards,” Dr. Kayongo emphasized.
He announced that starting next year, candidates will sit for their UNEB final examinations directly at the school, as it has officially been granted a UNEB Examination Centre status along with all necessary operational licenses and certifications.
“Parents who are able should produce more children and bring them to Sallim—we will provide them with quality education and practical life skills,” he added.
Prophet John Everest Encourages Faith Over Fear
Prophet John Everest of Prestige Worshippers Church exhorted parents and candidates to eliminate fear from their lives and clothe themselves in faith, noting that fear often leads to failure. Drawing from the Biblical story of Peter walking on water, he reminded the audience that Peter only began to sink when he let fear take over upon seeing the strong waves.
Concluding the speeches, the School Headteacher, Ms. Anyait Loyce, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering top-tier education. She noted that despite being a rural-based school, G&E Sallim Christian High School has transformed the community by bringing accessible, high-quality educational services to the local residents.
