
The aspiring Member of Parliament for Kabale Municipality Hon Joseph Mutebile yesterday camped at at Kirigime Mosque where he prayed with the Muslim community to mark the celebration of Eid al Adha one of the most significant events in the Islamic calendar.
Hon Joseph Mutebile a banker and young brother of the late BOU governor Prof Tumusiime Mutebile was warmly welcomed by religious leaders and worshippers and took part in the prayers and later addressed the congregation, commending the Muslim community for their strong sense of faith and unity.
In his speech, he emphasized the importance of nurturing religious values among the younger generation.

He said “let us encourage our children to embrace the mosque and grow in the teachings of faith. A strong foundation in religion builds responsible citizens”.
Hon Mutebile praised the peaceful coexistence among different faiths in Kabale and noted that such unity is vital for community development.
He noted that Kabale Municipality is built on diversity, and the strength of Bakiga lies in respecting and supporting each other regardless of their religious background.
Hon. Joseph also used the opportunity to rally support for his 2025/6 parliamentary bid, pledging to offer transformative leadership focused on inclusive development, better infrastructure, and youth empowerment.

He expressed that he is committed to offering the kind of leadership this municipality deserves, one that listens, acts, and delivers for all people, regardless of tribe or religion.
The Eid gathering was marked by joyful celebrations, prayers, and a message of peace and reflection. Muslim leaders at the mosque thanked Hon. Mutebile for joining them and encouraged continued cooperation between political leaders and the faith community.

Eid al-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God’s command, a story that resonates deeply with values of faith, sacrifice, and devotion.
As the 2025/6 elections draw closer, Hon. Joseph Mutebile continues to engage with various communities across Kabale Municipality in what many see as a grassroots approach to people centered politics.
