A new road called Ndemere Road has been opened in Rutooma, Nyabikoni, Central Division, Kabale Municipality.
The project, led by a celebrated businessman Byamungu Michael Turyamureba Rwasabutare, is a big step toward improving the area.
The road opening was made possible on Saturday by the people of Rutooma and nearby villages, who worked together and gave parts of their land for free to allow this development.
Speaking at the event, Byamungu thanked the residents for their sacrifice and teamwork.
“I want to thank the people of Rutooma and well-wishers for giving their high-value land freely to help develop our area,” he said.
Local leaders, including the LC1 chairpersons of Rutooma, Kekubo, and Kiyoora, were also praised for mobilizing residents and guiding the community in building the road.
The new Ndemere Road will bring many benefits to the community, including:
1. Increased land value: Land and plots along the road will now be worth more.
2. Better security: The road will make it easier to keep the area safe.
3.More investment*: Investors will be attracted because of improved access to the area.
Byamungu called the road a symbol of progress and urged the people to keep working together to improve their communities.
“Aluta continua—our fight for development continues,” he said.
