Dr. Gad Rugaju the Deputy RDC Kanungu District has threatened to arrest PDM SACCO leaders and members who are hoodwinking other members discouraging them from attending PDM barazas.
He said particularly warned those who went around Buhoma Town Council demobilizing local people and scaring them and hiding them from attending the PDM baraza misinforming them that RDC and District police is coming to arrest them.
Dr. Gad Rugaju explained that PDM barazas and like other government programs are aimed at sensitizing people to actively engage and utilize the government poverty eradication programs.
He made the remarks today while meeting the local ofBuhoma Town Council. He said government will not hastate to arrest anybody who distracts locals from benefiting from government programs.
“ We run these PDM barazas to bring out the truth about these programs, those exhorting money from members and doing other corruption activities will not be spared” he added.
Dr. Gad Rugaju went ahead to explain the importance of Baraza that “In Uganda, a “baraza” is a traditional gathering or meeting where community members discuss issues, share ideas, and make decisions. It’s like a town hall meeting, but rooted in local culture.”
He went further to warn those people failing Government program programs that they will surely be arrested.
He explained to the community that office of RDC and Kanungu district local Government is to cover all 27 Sub counties explaining all Government programs.
