Kisoro District is set to endorse the leader of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, as its preferred presidential candidate for 2031.
This was revealed by Kisoro LCV Chairperson Ndyana Richard, who also serves as the PLU Publicity Secretary for the Kigezi Sub-Region.
Speaking to journalists in his office, Ndyana said the endorsement exercise will begin tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. with a brass band march through Kisoro Town, after which participants will convene at the Mayor’s Garden.
He noted that the event will be attended by the Minister of State for Defence and Veteran Affairs (Defence) and Kisoro District Woman Member of Parliament, Grace Akifeza Ngabirano as chief guest.
Ndyana said the organisers are targeting more than 100,000 signatures and that every citizen aged 18 years and above is welcome to sign the endorsement book.
He described General Muhoozi Kainerugaba as a pillar in the fight against corruption.
Ndyana said they are ready to work with gen Muhoozi who is undoubtably a great leader in Uganda and Africa. Kisoro eramushaka(Rufumbira), when translated means ‘ Kisoro loves him’-Gen Muhoozi .
