The convict Nzamuye Amos is a resident of Murambi village, Rwaramba parish, Nyakinama subcounty Bufumbira South consistency county in Kisoro district.

He has been appearing before the Kisoro chief magistrate court for the last ten months battling two counts of attempted defilement and having carnal knowledge with his domestic goat.

According to the prosecution after returning home completely high from local alcohol, waragi and maliguwana on the night of March 12th.2023 he turned violence towards his wife Agnes Nyiramugisha chasing her from home that very night.

Prosecution adds that as Nyiramugisha then fled the home with her four children her husband Nzamuye Amos grabbed one of her children aged 11 years and carried her into her mother’s bed room to first have carnal knowledge with her.

Prosecution also states that the convict on the same night had sex with his domestic goat which later alone died.

In his ruling the Kisoro district chief magistrate His worship Kenneth Komachi said the prosecution has managed to provide enough evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt that Nzamuye Amos attempted to defile his biological daughter.

The defense lawyer to the convict Kiburirani Nicholas asked the chief magistrate to give him lenient sentence because the convict is a first-time offender.

In his ruling after hearing from both parties His worship Komachi sentenced the convict to serve three years in government prison saying the punishment will act as a deterrent measure for others.

However the wife of the convict Nyiramugisha Agness said that she is not satisfied with the sentence because three years are very few adding that adding at least they would have sentenced him to ten years.

She said she fears when the man returns after three years, he might kill her because of his drunkardness and violence.
