NTUNGAMO, UGANDA, June 26, 2026 Joy and gratitude filled Ntungamo District Council Hall today as district leaders, clergy, friends, and well-wishers gathered for a special Prayer Breakfast to celebrate First Lady Maama Janet Kataha Museveni’s 78th birthday
The thanksgiving event brought together political, religious, and community leaders in a spirit of unity to honor Maama Janet’s remarkable legacy of faith, service, and motherly leadership.
Proceedings were led by Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisibwe, Bishop of South Ankole Diocese, with participation from Catholic, Muslim, and other denominations. Attendees were united in prayer, asking Almighty God to grant Maama Janet complete healing, renewed strength, peace, and many more years of fruitful service.
“Happy 78th Birthday, Maama Janet Museveni! May the Lord continue to bless you, protect you, restore you to full health, and sustain you with His grace for many more years of faithful service. Amen,” the congregation prayed.
LC5 Chairperson Sam Mucunguzi Rwakigoba “Salongo” thanked former Woman MP Bata Joseline Kamateneti for mobilizing the celebration. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving livelihoods under “Tokola Promotion Chapter Two.”
“Ntungamo is blessed to have two big people — the President and his First Lady. We are blessed,” Salongo said.
PA Rukurungu echoed the message, stressing service delivery and dedication to the district’s development agenda.
Former Woman MP Bata Joseline Kamateneti said she organized the prayers after seeing a message on MZ’s X handle indicating Maama Janet was “in good ways” and had requested Ugandans to pray for her.
“After seeing that message, I planned this function because she is in a calm situation and will soon be with Ugandans,” Kamateneti said, thanking residents for turning up to celebrate.
Other leaders present included Hon. Hunter James Baryeija, Hon. Beatrice Rwakimari, RDC Ntungamo, NRM cadres, LC3 chairpersons, councilors, and PLU leaders.
The Ntungamo celebration reflects the love and appreciation Ugandans have for Maama Janet, who also serves as Minister of Education and Sports.
