Its crime within Prison! The Uganda Prisons Service have confirmed a weird incident that took place at Masindi Government Prison where an inmate is alleged to have killed a fellow prisoner.
The Uganda Prisons Service Spokesman Frank Baine Mayanja confirmed the unfortunate incident which he described as an ‘inmate to inmate violence’ that resulted into death.
According to a Press Release dated today 4th August 2025 and signed by Baine, the incident took place yesterday 3rd August when a convicted prisoner No MDI 829/2023 Moses Tuhame who was charged with aggravated defilement succumbed to injuries inflicted on him by prisoner No R-534/25 Anatoli Irumba charged with the murder of his mother.
It reported that two had been put in a TB isolated room and after the incident the victim Tuhame was rushed to Masindi General Hospital but he passed away a few hours later.
Baine explained that the Police have taken over the matter and the body of the deceased will be handed over to the relatives for burial after a postmortem examination.
