The Mk women’s brigade yesterday at 4pm, visited one of the ghettos in Kalerewe market of Kampala.
These ghettos include Sowete ghetto among others as the women’s brigade discovered a bunch of challenges the ghetto youth face.
According to their Chairperson, Samson Kiseeka, they experience specific challenges like high unemployment, Police brutality, dirty and lumped filled garbage as well as poor sewage connections.
“As the MK movement women’s brigade walked through Kalerewe market, the eye capturing issue was the unsanitary places as most were garbage filled as well as the high rate of unemployment among these people forcing them into dangerous vices like theft and robbery.
Also the police brutality mentioned by the people of these ghettos forces them to live a life of crime” Molly Mukidi the group secretary General said.
She added “therefore, as the women’s brigade we promise to raise these problems to the General as well as try to bring him physically to witness the conditions the people of the ghettos of Kalerewe market face”.
Mukidi is one of the top MK mobilisers. She said they want Gen. Muhoozi to understand the challenges of the youths and see how government and the NRM party can solve them.
Recently Gen. Muhoozi has been visiting the Kampala streets to appreciate the challenges of pot holes and he has pledged to support KCCA to have the roads restored to normal.
The Chairperson and the secretary general in response assured the ghetto youths of Soweto that our next president MK will solve the issues that they are facing and will be coming to visit Kalwere market and they will have a chance to speak to him face to face and put in their grievances.
Daisy Ssonko welcomed them too and made the initial communication by introducing the members of AGOJIE she had moved with and told them the reason as to why AGOJIE is there is because of our next President MK.
