Enos Asiimwe the Kabula county MP is fighting for basic social service delivery for his people in the Northern part of Lyantonde in Lwengo District.
His moves are aimed at uniting his people and as well fighting for better health care, good education, a clear road network among other social and development services for his people.
Some time back when he realized that the locals needed capital, he gave them cash to start up income generating activities. Some people took him to be a showbiz person, no he was serious he craves for development of his people.
About 5 years ago, Lyantonde District suffered major health related challenges with Medicare for pregnant and delivering mother’s so difficult to administer in the modern times.Â
Lyantonde District Hospital, which alone, handles more than 20 delivering mother’s a day did not have a safe haven for delivery.Â
“Many of our mothers would struggle hard to ensure that delivery is done, so we’re the midwives who always had to devise means for a better delivery mechanism, especially for the women who needed caesarian section, a medical official said.
The hospital which had lasted more than 15 years only found hope when, Kabula County MP Enos Asiimwe donated a Neonatal unit and other facilities costing more than Ugx 120 million, equipped the Hospital maternity ward and renovated the whole facility to a better facelift.
“We can now operate and also help mothers deliver safely and do C – Sections and we are better a facility. Many of the contemporaries never thought about helping the occupation,” says Fred Tumusiime the Medical Superintendent at Lyantonde General Hospital.
At the height of the intensified fundraising for churches and several other places of worship in the Kabula, Enos Asiimwe organized to major functions that saw the Deputy Speaker of Parliament preside over the fundraisers.
“We actually managed to get more than Ugx 1 billion in cash and pledges from the people who came to both with Kinuuka Archdeaconry alone raising Ugx 378 million shillings. This is an achievement that is taking the right direction,” Asiimwe says.
Several other fundraisings that involved the late Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah and Vice President Jesica Alupo, initiated by Hon Asiimwe, in Kashagama and Lyakajula sub counties also saw the population benefit from more than Ugx 500 million that was fundraised.
The constituency is made up of 8 Sub Counties. These include Lyantonde Town Council, Lyantonde Rural, Kaliro TC, Kairo Rural, Kashagama, Kinuuka, Mpumudde and Lyakajula where a house for the Priest was constructed with support from Hon Enos Asiimwe.
