Mr. Sebastian Rutah Ngambwa the Managing Director of Prime Agro Farms has been awarded as the best farmer in Uganda by the Ambrosoli Think Tank.
Chipo Fortunate a diplomat and business woman from South Africa handed over the award yesterday while in company of the Ambrosoli Think Tank officials and members.
Chipo while presiding over a leadership and development conference at Serena Hotel in Kampala advised Ugandans to emulate Mr. Sebastian Rutah Ngambwa who started small but now is an award winner in the agricultural sector in Uganda and is recognized globally.
She praised Ugandans for being good people and advised them to continue to work hard and to be smarter by copying from Mr. Sebastian Rutah Ngambwa and other achievers in Uganda from various sector ranging from agriculture, business tourism and academia among others.
Mr. Sebastian Rutah Ngambwa in his speech urged Ugandans to learn skills from best performers and achieversĀ Ā even locally.
āPlease do not wait to learn from abroad, you can learn from best practices done locally and work hard with focus success is possibleā. Rutah Ngambwa said.
He emphasized that focus and constituency in any business engagement will always yield success and said Uganda has a great potential especially in the agricultural and business sectors among others.
Prof Maud Kamatenesi Mugisha who is the former vice-chancellor of Bishop Stuart University and the Principal of MAMITA Technical and Business Management Institute which is based in Rwampara district in Western Uganda, was one of the discussants at the conference.
She shared on the various investment opportunities in the agricultural sector that include investment in local herbs to produce herbal medicine.
Prof Kozea Byamugisha a lecturer of Makerere University and Hon (Prof) Robinah K. Nanyunja an international development expert and environmentalist shared at the conference.
The Ambrosoli Think Tank Managing Director Dr. Ambrose Byamugisha speaking during the conference said that Sebastian Rutah Ngambwa is an outstanding farmer and should be emulated by farmers in the region.
Dr Byamugisha said the Ambrosoli Think Tank team visited Prime Agro Farms in Zirobwe and were impressed with his agriculture practices that are very exemplary. The team visited him on 16thĀ of April 2025.
Rutahās mixed modern farm has very good Friesian cows and good banana plantation among other things on his piece of land measuring 100 acres.
The Chairperson, Ambrosoli Think Tank, Sarah Kezia Nambalirwa in her award presentation Speech said Mr. Rutah Sebastian Ngambwa the Ambrosoli Think Tank Best Farmer Award for 2025 basing on his outstanding commitment to agricultural innovation, community empowerment, and excellence in sustainable farming.
The Think Tank happens weekly at Serena Hotel and leaders and businessmen and women are trained and shaped. The Think Tank also is a huge networking platform since it hosts investors and leaders in the academia and businessmen and women from the region.
Rutah Ngambwa has also been awarded by other groups as the best farmer in Uganda.Ā He has visited Ā Ā Netherlands and he says it was his life-changing experience.
Prime Agro Farms is home to 250 cows, with 45 producing 900 liters of milk daily.
