Outgoing Bishop of Kabale Diocese,

My family and I warmly congratulate Bishop Bonaventure Bosco Gubazire upon his consecration as the new Bishop of Kabale Diocese.

Bishop Bonaventure has been nurtured and well grounded by his parents, Mzee Vanansio Gubazire and Mrs. Gubazire, his uncle Korinako, the Karubanda community, and the Catholic Church. We salute his family for giving him a strong foundation rooted in faith, service, education, and community.

We also wish to express our sincere appreciation to Bishop Callist Rubaramira for his distinguished service as Bishop of Kabale Diocese for the past 23 years.

Your leadership has contributed greatly to the unity and spiritual growth of the people of the Diocese and the wider Kigezi community. You have also overseen and championed numerous development initiatives that have made a meaningful contribution to the social and economic transformation of the region, some of which have attracted the attention and visits of H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.

Above all, you have consistently promoted unity, peace, and cooperation within the Church and across the wider community. Your years of dedicated service remain an important part of the history and development of Kabale Diocese and Kigezi. You leave behind an enduring example of leadership and service that will continue to inspire religious, community, and national leaders.

We equally salute Mzee Gubazire, a distinguished educationist, community leader, and dependable patriotic elder, for the important role he has played in nurturing and mentoring not only Bishop Bonaventure, but also other leaders who continue to serve our communities and country, including Prima Gubazire, Vice Chairperson of Kabale District, and Isaya Kanyamahane, RDC of Kitagwenda.

As Bishop Bonaventure begins this new chapter of service, we wish him wisdom, strength, humility, and God’s guidance. May his ministry be marked by unity, compassion, faith, and an enduring commitment to the people of Kabale Diocese and Kigezi.

I had planned to attend this important and historic consecration personally. However, I am currently on a special assignment outside the country and, regrettably, will be unable to be present.
