The ๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฎ๐๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐๐ of the Parliament of Uganda has ๐จ๐ซ๐๐๐ซed ๐๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐๐ข๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ฌ ๐๐ญ ๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐๐จ๐ฆ ๐๐ช๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐.
MPs from the Physical Infrastructure Committee have recommended the immediate demolition of commercial buildings allegedly built on the green belt of Igangaโs Freedom Square.
The chairman of the parliamentโs physical infrastructure committee, Robert Kasolo, said members had discovered the buildings had been constructed on land designated as public land.
โIganga Municipal Council authorities made a mistake by renting out land to powerful businessmen in the town to illegally build buildings,โ Kasolo said.
The green belt is public land used for holding social events such as weddings or places or for leisure activities.
