TOPIC: God uses Adversaries to purify, strengthen and draw us closer to his presence and to equip us for spiritual warfare
God raises enemy to train us for battle and to draw us closer to him.
︎ Satan is not the only enemy. There are enemies that are raised and anointed by God
*Judges 6 :1*
How did Gideon and his tribe end up in this predicament for 7 years in the hands of the enemy?
︎ The lord himself delivered the Israelites in the hand of their enemies because they had done evil in his sight. He wanted them to repent and turn back to him.
*1Kgs.11.14* Now the LORD raised up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite; he was a descendant of the king in Edom. (NKJV)
︎ Overtime Solomon began to deviate from the way his father and began to worship foreign gods. He forgot the ordinances that the lord had handed over to his father. He married so many wives and the lord rose up an enemy against Solomon and this enemy was not Satan. He was anointed of God to fight and oppose Solomon.
︎The enemy/ contender / adversary God raises is difficult to fight in the flesh because he has an anointing in him to continuously prevail over you even when you are anointed until you will learn to go in the presence of God and repent
︎ Israelites are God’s chosen people but they failed to resist the midianites because God had handed them over to them.
︎When the enemy is from God , it doesn’t matter your strength, position or the favor you have in society.
︎When the enemy has been raised to fight you for a purpose, you will not prevail until you walk into that purpose. Sometimes this purpose is to teach you how to fight in the spiritual realm.
︎ David says in *Psm 144 :1* that:- Blessed be the LORD my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle– (NKJV)
︎ The confrontation you are going through; God desires you to learn how to fight in spiritual battles
︎ David learn to gather an army to fight with because of Saul. David wasn’t a military man but in the count of the enemies he faced he learnt how to fight.
God is talking to someone to mobilise prayer warriors to help you fight spiritual battles.
God has left that enemy on your space so that you can learn how to wage war.
Judge.3.1 – 2* Now these are the nations which the LORD left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan
Judge.3.2* – (this was only so that the generations of the children of Israel might be taught to know war, at least those who had not formerly known it),
︎ God left some enemies for the children of Israel so that those who had not learnt how to fight would learn how to fight.
︎ If you have not yet come to the spiritual level that God wants you to be; there would be contenders around you so that you will learn how to battle.
︎ God is bringing you to a level where you are no longer afraid of enemies.
︎ David would even ask God if he could pursue the enemy:-
*1 Sam 30 :8*
︎ When the army was running away from Goliath, David was running to Goliath. God is calling you to the battle room ; you have tolerated that enemy for too long.
︎ God wanted that generation to learn how to draw swords . God wants you to learn how to use the shield of faith , the sword of the Spirit the helmet of salvation ( *Eph 6 :16-17* )
︎ Some enemies move in the same anointing and covering as you are. So you are almost equal to them . They cannot be intimidated by abusive words ans threats.
︎Esther and Haman were under one king. God raised Haman to cause Esther to fast and pray.
︎ There’s an enemy that cause you to realise that the weapons of our warfare are not canal but they are mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds:
(2 Cor 10 :4* )
︎ Hannah had an enemy called Peninah her co-wife who continuously mocked her which pushed her to a spiritual warfare/ war zone.
︎ The enemy that comes from God does not leave tomorrow.
2 Samuel 3:1*
By the time you are through with this enemy, you will have learnt how to pray in the word, how to fast,how to see in the spirit and to study the word of God.
