PLU to organise a Baraza and medical camp in Kyegegwa district

Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) will hold a baraza in Kyegegwa district on the 22rd August, 2026.

According to Hon. Kyalimpa Jovent the event’ chief convener said the Baraza and the medical camp are aimed at strengthening the locals capacity to participate in local development activities.

She stressed that they want to mobilise the locals in Rwenzori region to support government programs and fight corruption.

Hon Jovent Kyayimpa today told the eastafricanwatch.net that during the same event PLU will also conduct a free medical camp to treat disease.

“We shall carry out a medical camp and a team of lawyers will also sensitise the locals on legal services that include solving Land and family disputes.

We know health and legal services are key and if we fight corruption and services can reach the local people, poverty can be fought, it will be very easy for community development to happen” she added.

“The above baraza is the first of its kind in Rwenzori region.We want to ask the locals to be vigilant on accountability, so that government funds sent to Local governments from the Central government is be put to proper use” said Hon Kyogabirwe Jackie.

A senior PLU Mobiliser Molly Mukidi appealed to the people of Rwenzori region, especially Kyegegwa district to participate in the Baraza massively.

She said all the area MPs are actively mobilizing for the Baraza. They include; Hon Tom Bright (MP Kyaka central) and Hon Jackson Karugaba Kafuuzi, (MP Kyaka South) and Hon. Vincent Freedom Kaheeru is the Member of Parliament representing Kyaka North County.

What does Hon. Kyalimpa Jovent do for PLU?

She is actively serving as a key political mobilizer and host for the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU).

Hon Kyayimpa is heavily involved in organizing and coordinating grassroots activities, particularly leading preparations and security alignments for upcoming PLU Barazas (public rallies/consultative meetings). The activities include; Security Coordination, PLU Mobilization and Public/Media Presence: She serves as a government consultant and business speaker, participating in prominent national television debates on political and socioeconomic updates.

She also leads official coordination meetings alongside high-ranking officials, including Resident District Commissioners (RDCs), to ensure security ahead of large political gatherings.
