The territorial police in Rubanda have arrested Ekyinaheirwe Salimu Joventa, 35 year old woman who allegedly murdered her 50 year old husband, Andrew Byomugabe a nurse resident of Ndego trading center, Kashasha parish in Ikumba sub county Rubanda district.
Ekinaheirwe who had escaped after killing her husband was arrested on an intelligence tip off on Monday morning hours 4th May 2025 at Hamurwa while was trying to escape to Kanungu district.
According to ASP Elly Maate the Kigezi Region Police Spokesman, Ekinaheirwe was not arrested with any body parts of the deceased as it had earlier circulated on some social media platforms, because the body of the late Andrew was intact with all its body parts at the time of carrying out postmortem.
The Police spokesman adds that inquiries are almost complete and the suspect will face the law to answer charges of murder.
