I need 3 consecutive terms in Parliament to work for you- Rukiga County MP tells
The poor performing Rukiga County Legislator Hon Bish Roland Ndyomugyenyi has told people that he will need three consecutive terms to prove to them his performance.
Hon. Bish Ndyomigyenyi openly challenged people that they don’t understand politics, comparing them with schools where students are given three terms in a year before they are promoted to another class, a statement that left constituents shocked.
Attending the function to was the Current Rukiga woman Member of Parliament Hon. Caroline Kamusiime Muhwezi who told her people of how she begs her husband for a drive in his car giving an excuse narrating how she had earlier during the day tried to access her husband’s Car but refused and after giving him a hug, the husband accepted and she drove in his car to the function.
In short she said she is broke.
The two legislators who are supposed to legislate for their people have not sworn enough capacity and thus makes them not eligible to be re-elected.
The main role of the Members of the Parliament is to represent their constituents’ views in Parliament and bringing to the attention of relevant Ministers different matters of national concern.
MPs can also use their social capital to lobby for their areas.
They are mandated to monitor and bring to the attention of Ministers and the public the misuse of Government funds, violations of the rule of law and unlawful activities among others.
Rukiga which was once represented by Jack Sabiiti and the late Manzi Tumubwine is now struggling with poor MPs.
Luckily Dr. Sylivia Alinaitwe has been requested to contest for the Rukiga Woman MP seat and she already has shown capacity to deliver.for the people of Rukiga district.
Locals of Rukiga have said they will vote the two current MPs out. Alex Magezi Kanuga could scoop the Rukiga MP seat. Over 4 aspirants want Ndyomungyenyi out come 2026 national elections and the locals are strongly behind Dr. Sylivia Alinaitwe to elect her their Woman MP.
