President Yoweri Museveni has warned the women in Kigezi against getting involved in sexual affairs with road workers who will be tarmacking tourism roads in Kigezi.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony recently held at Saza grounds in Kisoro district and Rwakaraba in Kabale district, President Yoweri Museveni, in a speech read for him by Thomas Tayebwa, Parliamentary deputy speaker, said that sexual affairs usually disrupt peace in homes and communities and can affect the road construction projects if they happen and the fights between families and road construction workers.
He also said that such sexual affairs promote the spread of HIV/AIDS and others diseases.
The President also expressed optimism that once the roads are completed, they will boost the tourism industry, easy transport and trade in Kigezi region.
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa represented the President as the chief guest.

This 33.2 km road project, valued at 112 billion Ugandan shillings, will also include two ferries for safer water transportation on Lake Bunyonyi, a Search and Rescue Boat, four landing sites, and two roadside markets.
The contract has been awarded to Samcrete Egypt Engineers & Contractors, who are expected to complete the project within 36 months. The Kisoro-Mugahinga road stretches 18.1 km, while the Kabale-Bunyonyi road is 15.1 km long.
David Bahati, Minister of State for Trade and also Ndorwa County West Member of Parliament explained that the road construction was delayed by challenges within the procurement processes.
Hon Bahati hailed locals, the business community and tourism stakeholders for their patience and called for their cooperation which he said is key for the project’s success and on time.
