President Museveni’s criticism of Christ’s message about the birds of the air warrants a closer look.

In Matthew 6:26, Jesus teaches his followers not to worry, using the birds as an example of God’s providence. This message is not about discouraging personal responsibility, but about trusting in God’s care and provision. If God feeds the birds, who don’t plant or harvest, won’t He do much more for us, who work hard and store for the future?

Worry is a significant enemy to human well-being, contributing to various health issues like ulcers, heart disease, and diabetes. As a Christian, President Museveni should approach Scripture with reverence and humility, recognizing that some passages may require deeper understanding.

Rather than questioning the Bible’s message, we should reflect on our limited understanding and approach it with an open heart and mind.

Let’s focus on trusting God’s goodness and provision, rather than letting worry and doubt creep in.
