FIRE brand Kampala city pastor Martin Ssempa who was recently covered in the press over being dragged to court by a woman for alleged trespassing and land grabbing is still bothered.
Court will deliver its judgment on civil suit number 924 of 2018 (High Court of Uganda) Tobias Kabuye commonly known as Kyankazi.
Court officials recently visited the locus (disputed land) at Bumpenje, Wakiso district and will on the 16th of April 2019 deliver judgment.
Timothy Twikirize of Twikirize and Co Advocates lawyer of Kabuye said court is ready to deliver its judgment.
According to the complainant; through her lawyer of Twikirize, Ssempa the senior Pastor of Community Church Makerere allegedly excavated roads crisscrossing through her land. This she said was done on land comprised in Busiro block 526 plots; 129, 130, 45 and 46 situate
Kabuye also asserts that she owns a Kibanja in land where Pastor Ssempa is land lord which measures 10 acres at Bumpenje zone, jjungo parish , Kasanje sub county of Wakiso district. This second piece of land is adjacent Tobias first piece of land.
She claims that Pastor Ssempa bought the land about 10 years ago when she was on as a kibanja holder and wants court to pronounce her land ownership.
She also claims that Pastor Ssempa has allegedly also dumped building materials and has been moving trucks through her land without her permission.
In his response recently Pastor Ssempa said he was happy that the matter had been brought to court for the dispensation of his justice. āTobias is not a good neighbor she gave us a road when I bought but after sometime changed her mind. To solve this I bought land nearby and created a roadā he said.
āAs that she is claiming to be a Kibanja holder of 10 acres in my land she is not honest I bought the land when it had not squatters, Pastor Ssempa added.
Pastor Ssempa said he is a man of God and of honor who has never been heard in any land conflict and that his lawyer Benson Ssebyazi has been defending him to prove to court that he is innocent.
The Bumpenje LC1 Chairman James Mbonye said the land conflict between Tobias and Pastor Ssempa exists and hopes court to put it to rest.
Pastor Ssempa was recently in the news for fighting people power boss, Bobi Wine for singing and using a balokore (born again) Christian song ā tuliyambala eguleā to foster a political message against the elected government of President Yoweri Museveni.
He said the land case may have risen or attracted publicity to distort his campaign in which he demands that Bobi apologizes to Christians in Uganda.
