“Donozio” was arrested on 20th August 2022
A Rwandan woman in her 40s was yesterday transferred to Kamwezi police station from Mpororo police post where she has been in custody for attempting to steal a 3 month child.
The woman only identified as “Donozio” was arrested on 20th August 2022 last Saturday in Omukitijo Bukinda Sub county and taken to Bukinda police post and later taken to Mpororo police post.
Mr. Mashemeregwa Anthony the LC III councilor Kamwezi sub-County told our that on 18th August 2022 Donozio, went to Musiimire Robert’s family in Karera cell Kyabuhangwa parish Kamwezi sub-County looking for where she could spend a night.
A day after the wife to Mr. Robert, Bimenyimana Francine 38 who is also Rwandan national told her that she was going to the farm in Karushaya cell Kyogo parish to do a causal work at Kyamani’s place where Donozio decided to go along with her.
Along the way Donozio requested Francine to give her the baby and went carrying her on her back. Reaching in the garden, Donozio decided to go for a short call which turned into a long call and never come back.
When the one Kyamani, their boss came, found madam Francine alone and asked for Donozio, told that she had gone to ease herself and hadn’t come.
Their boss suspected that she could be the one she had traced somewhere hiding herself along the way in the bush with a child in her back.
After waiting for long they all became suspicious and made an alarm that pulled a number of people and launched a woman hunt but all in vain.
They later contacted Giso Kamwezi, the one Nyesiga and reported to police and the investigations started right until last Saturday when she was spotted by residents in Omukitijo Bukinda Sub county and arrested.
The NRM vice chairperson Kamwezi sub county Anna Tumwesigye told our reporter that the one Donozio was found feeding this child on milk which shows that her intention of taking the child was either to raise her due to the fact that she has never given birth to any child.
