Mugisha is said to have coned people close to s.80million
A Rwandese fake Prophet has been arrested from Uganda over allegedly conning of worshipers and members of the public.
Mugisha Neza Exerviar, 35 years is the leader of True Revival Centre Church and leader of a bogus organization called Ujama Family and Friends of Sentema in Mengo Kampala.
He is said to have started the bogus organization in April 2021 where he asked members to contribute or pay sh. 2 million each to him and qualify to get sh. 15m after some weeks. But it was a chain system where you get people to bring sh.2 million and wait to earn or receive sh.15 million later. Close to 40 people have been conned.
Some members smelt a rat when he refused to issue receipts for payments they made to him but they insist sent some of the money to his phone and have other pieces of evidence
Neza was arrested this week and brought before Amon Magezi Magistrate at Mwanga 2 court in Kampala. He is remanded at Luzira Government Prison and was today brought back to court for the hearing of his case.
Neza allegedly conned both church members and others from the general public who swarm court during hearing of his case. It seems he had been stubborn and hard to arrest and prosecute.
He could not be reached for comment about the matter. He now is a resident of Luzira government Prison in the coolers.
Some Members said though he a strong smile, ‘not all that shines is gold’ ” they said.
He came from Mutala district of Northern Rwanda and has been in Uganda for some years now.
“Rwanda expelled several religious leaders but now we wonder that Uganda is accommodating these fake Prophets in Uganda” a resident in Mengo said.
Atwine Gloria and Halima (daughter of the late Sheikh Kaduyu) said they and some others will fight and have their refund.
“ He has no option but to refund our money, they is no free money in Uganda and moreover some one who calls himself a Prophet he has to be transparent.
He will find other people he can cheat, maybe those of Northern Rwanda but not me” Atwine added.
She added that they will use all lawful means to have justice from the estranged ‘Prophet'( Zena).
A source said that one of the victims forcefully enforced his refund when he man- handled the fake Prophet .( AkaMukwata amatayi yamutuga, Prophet yashashura).
“Uganda security and Local officials should wake and deal with such bogus Prophets. You cannot have such nonsense in Rwanda and why have it here in Kampala? ” Juma asked.
