Speaker Oboth made the commitment during a courtesy visit to Parliament by the Makerere University Guild leadership, led by Guild Speaker Mutatiina Travis Muhwezi and Deputy Guild Speaker Ms Evas Akello.

The student leaders used the meeting to raise a number of pressing policy and welfare concerns affecting the student body, chief among them the shortage of accommodation for female students.

In his response, Speaker Oboth commended the guild leadership for raising the matter directly with Parliament and assured them that the House will expeditiously approve any funding request for female hostels.
