Supreme Twale-Nsangi, Abdurahman Ssendawula’s Visit to Dr. Stephen B. Kayongo’s Home Strengthens Interfaith Unity.
In a significant event held at the home of Dr. Stephen B. Kayongo, Senior Pastor of Nsangi Christian Fellowship, the Supreme Twale of Nsangi, Abdurahman Ssendawula, led a gathering of religious leaders aimed at fostering unity, love, and development in the community. The visit brought together key figures from both the Muslim and Christian communities to strengthen bonds and promote harmony.
Among the notable speakers were Hajji Katabula, next in command to the Supreme Twale; Hajji Abdul Kiyimba, former Mayor of Kyengera Town Council and current Chairman of NRM Wakiso District; and Rev. Dr. Paul Busuulwa, a retired priest from the Anglican Church. Each leader delivered messages of hope, emphasizing the importance of togetherness.
Dr. Stephen B. Kayongo, also a leader of SMU projects in Uganda, spoke passionately about the need for collaboration between the two religions, encouraging everyone to work together to create a peaceful, loving, and progressive community.
The visit served as a stepping stone toward future cooperation, with an agreement to prioritize unity and development for the benefit of all. The leaders called on their communities to uphold these values for a brighter, more harmonious future.
A significant moment of the visit was the planting of a mango tree, symbolizing the success of the visit and the hope that it will bear fruits, both literally and in terms of the cooperation and goodwill generated from the meeting. This act represented a commitment to growth and the long-lasting impact of the discussions.
Additionally, the visit included discussions about offering sponsorships and bursaries for children from the Muslim community to attend schools under Kayongo’s ministry. Initiatives for financial literacy and improvement for women in the Muslim community were also shared, highlighting a commitment to uplift and empower all members of the community.
