Allow me opportunity to congratulate you, Your Excellency on this milestone – taking oath of assumption of office of the President of the Republic of Uganda for this term. Congratulations.
You need no reminders about how enormous the task ahead of you is since you know it better than any other citizen. We pray the Lord will grant you the strength and courage to serve in this term of office as God grants you wisdom.
You have demonstrated unrivalled capacity in leading Uganda. You have delicately guided the Republic through treacherous rapids that have tipped the canoe of progress: notable ones being the matter of existence of Buganda and Uganda and the discipline in our great army. These two icebergs have in the past wrecked an otherwise intended safe passage on the way to national cohesion, peace and progress.
May it be said of you like it was said of King David: Psalm 72:78 that you shepherded Uganda with integrity of heart and with skillful hands.
Congratulations once again and may the good Lord prosper the works of your hands and bless your family.
