I take this opportunity to thank the Chief coordinator Operation weathly creation, OWC Gen. Salim Saleh for the huge contribution he has put in expanding the coffee sector in Uganda that because of his direct involvement where OWC has distributed millions of coffee seedlings to over 1.2 million households, Uganda has surpassed Ethiopia in coffee export.
Uganda today tops the 54 African countries to export coffee to Europe. Imagine Uganda a once failed state because of bad leadership and total economic collapse is now Africa’s leading exporter of coffee taking over Ethiopia that had led the African continent for decades. Just the calendar year 2025 Uganda exported over 8 million 60 bags of coffee earning the country 8.8 Uganda trillion shillings about 2.5 billion Us dollars.
In this 2026, the last, first five months Uganda has already earned 3.2 trillion Uganda shillings from coffee export. OWC being the major driver towards this incredible export boom. I salute you Gen Salim Saleh. Thank you Gen. Salim Saleh and your teams for great, work.
