Uganda will soon witness a political scuffle- Matsiko
Dan Matsiko, the National Thinkers Party boss in Uganda has asked the opposition to reorganize in order to have programs that are aimed at defending the local people in Uganda.
“The Opposition parties have to get to the drawing board so that they can draw strategies that can defeat President Yoweri Museveni and the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party.
The opposition has to learn that power is not donated you fight for it and must work towards fighting for power in order to have it” he said.
Mr. Matsiko who also said that he wrote a will for his family, said Ugandans must overcome fear to fight for what is right and for their democracy, rule of law and good governance.
He points on his teeth where he lost a tooth and adds ” i lost this tooth to the strangle for change in Uganda”
Mr. Matsiko said that the opposition must make credible alliances in order to win elections and should make strategic partnerships aimed at winning power or elections saying that if they remain divided they cannot overcome the NRM party.
He claimed that some opposition parties are working with the state or the NRM party but did not mention them and said these undermine the cause of the real opposition parties in Uganda.
Although he has respect for FDC party he said all the political parties have to realign their strategies including FDC so that they are set and working towards taking over leadership which must not be donated to them.
Matsiko was among the founders and mobilisers of Reform Agenda (1998) which later led to the formation of Forum for Democratic change (FDC) party where he was among Key youth leaders that especially mobilized higher institutions of learning.
He said that due to what he termed as government harassment of the opposition then he eventually was forced into exile in South Africa where he lived for some years before returning to Uganda recently.
Matsiko has been doing countrywide mobilization but declined to divulge details of his mission.
He however stressed that Uganda will witness a political scuffle in some centre of power which can result in change of a President.
Matsiko said the scuffle will be like that which occurred at the headquarters of IEBC where Mr. Wafula Chebukati was reportedly manhandled by some of his juniors before he announced Ruto as the Kenya’s President elect.
He said National thinkers party (NT-UGANDA) “we seek to continuously promote and practice Meaningful Electoral democracy underpinned by true respect for human rights and the rule of law in this country, the country we all call motherland Uganda”.
Matsiko commenting on the recently concluded Kenyan Presidential and other elections for other seats said it was predetermined polls calling it a sham.
“Pre-determined means that Mr. Wafula Chebukati who heads the Independent and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) knew what he would announce as a winner that is why some commissioners rejected his declaration” he said.
Mr. Matsiko predicts that the election or declaration of Ruto as the President elect of Kenya by Mr. Wafula Chebukati will soon be nullified by Court in Kenya.
Matsiko was born in greater Bushenyi in 1978. He is stuck to organizing and mobilizing Ugandans to oust President Museveni using democratic means although it is not clear whether Ugandans are ready to pay the price for change which he desires.
