
Uganda is mourning the death of Associate Professor Jassy Kwesiga Bagyendera.
Kwesiga who is also the husband of Prof Joy Kwesiga the Kabale University Vice Chancellor passed on Friday morning from Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.
According to family sources, Prof Kwesiga had been admitted at the hospital for over 3 months but his cause of death has not been revealed.
Prof Jassy was born in Kamwezi sub county of Rukiga district.

He is a former Associate Professor of Makerere University and also a former top official of Development Network of Indigenous Voluntary Associations (DENIVA).
Robert Kakuru Byamugisha one the people he natured said that Prof Jassy has contributed massively to the civil society development in Uganda as a well as in the education sector. Byamugisha is the Director of Kick corruption Out of Uganda.
NGO actors in Kigezi described him as a very humble but yet very powerful professor whose contributions to development was immense. Details of his burial program are yet to be released.
Prof Jassy B. Kwesiga is a former Associate Professor at Makerere University, where he worked in the Institute of Adult and Continuing Education. He served for as the Executive Director of DENIVA, a Network of Local NGOs, founded in 1988.
