Frank Mwebaze the father of Winnie Twinomugisha Samantha, a 23-year-old Ugandan student who was reportedly killed by a ‘train’ in Germany last week has praised the family of Monica, the mother of Winnie for supporting them in this devastating time.
Mwebaze an heir in the family of the late Bishop Geresomu Mugisha particularly thanked Mzee Paddy Mugisha a farmer and businessman in Uganda and Monica’s father for supporting Monica to uphold her in what he termed as a devastating time of the loss of the daughter-Winnie.
Twinomugisha’s sudden passing has left friends, fellow students, and the entire Ugandan community in deep shock, struggling to come to terms with the loss of a promising young life.
She has been known for her cheerful nature and ambition, had just been starting to establish herself in a new country, making her death all the more heartbreaking.
“My daughter was very healthy and fine, what killed her, why did they kill her” the father said.
Reports indicate that Samantha was tragically struck by a ‘train’ in Kleve, Germany, while she was standing near railway barriers. The incident is believed to have occurred suddenly, leaving no time for intervention, but no video footage of the accident has been shared to the parents in Uganda.
Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, but what is clear is that a bright young life was lost in an instant. Her peers describe the event as a horrific accident that has shaken the entire Ugandan student community in Germany.
Twinomugisha had spent only two years in Germany, having moved there on a student visa to pursue higher education. During this short period, she had already made a remarkable impression on her classmates and lecturers alike. The Mugisha family has not received any information to the cause of death of their daughter neither from the Germany government or Embassy in Uganda nor information from the Ugandan government particularly the Ugandan Embassy in Germany.

Mwebaze appreciates the Germany government for hosting the daughter and the European organization with an office in Kampala for offering Twinomugisha a scholarship to study in Germany but regrets that the who great project has been crashed by her un timely and mysterious death.

The Mugisha family has prepared to bury their daughter in Mbarara when the body arrives in Uganda soon.
Her Auntie Carol .O. Ainomugisha said “we can’t believe that Winnie and her great energy great positivity is no more. Her close relatives’ have been talking to her and she was healthy and fine”

Twinomugisha is surrounded by an army of family and friends that compose of senior government officials, senior UPDF officers, farmers, business community, Pastors among others who are prepared to give her an honorable sendoff. She has been a Mukiga by tribe and a Murundo by clan with origins from Kiggata (Ndorwa East) in Kabale-Kigezi region.
